Event intelligence
What is the Demand Index?
The Demand Index (DI) describes the overall buzz and projected impact of events across a city. It helps planners see where demand may build and which events deserve a closer look.
What goes into it?
DI factors in media coverage, social engagement and event uniqueness, alongside context such as weather and competing events. Scores are estimates that can change as new information arrives.
Reading the score
Use these broad planning bands on the 0 to 100 scale. They are a guide, not a promise of ticket sales, attendance or revenue.
- Low · 0 to 39
- Lower buzz and projected impact. Monitor nearby activity and keep plans flexible.
- Medium · 40 to 59
- A useful planning signal. Check event times and local demand when scheduling teams and ordering stock.
- High · 60 to 100
- Stronger buzz and projected impact. Review staffing, inventory, pricing and transport cover ahead of peak periods.
How planners use it
Compare events in the same city and planning period. Look at venues, arrival and departure times, expected visits and spend alongside DI. A high city-wide signal may affect neighbourhoods differently.
